First Friday
  03 April 09
Downtown Bakersfield

Friday afternoon I went downtown to
the Roof to shoot the Sunset.
I went early in the afternoon so I could walk
around and see if I could find anything of
interest to shoot.
I went onto the "Streets of Bakersfield" to see what I
could see.
.. Well, it turned out to be First Friday...
It's  of course the First Friday every month. The shops
Downtown
are  open late and  there is Music and Art
on display in various Galleries and on the street.
These first images are in the Metro Gallery located in
the City Loft, in The Art District.
There was an Art Exhibit with several  types of
Media, including Jewelry.
Champagne and Hors Do
urves were served.
As I was unprepared for this find I did not have my
tripod with me .  There was valuable Art on display  so
bit dark as a result. I took several shots of the Pianist, tho
I did not feel it appropriate to use flash. These shots inside the Gallery are a
ugh they are somewhat blurred by the movement and the slow exposure.  I
gave him my card, so hopefully
he will call me and we can do
some pictures in the  light.
Singer of a two man band  on the Street...
Carriage Rides...I'm not too sure how I feel about this,
so I won't even comment.
I do love Horses, So naturally I took a few shots of these two
Beauties! The Weather was very nice so they did not have to
stand around and carry people in the heat of the Sun.
